Death Valley is not the most fertile place in the world. But what was very surprising is the amount of stars you can see here. There really is no ambient light to speak of and sense it is the desert it really cools off at night to make superb camping. The added bonus is there are no bugs ether. The only thing I saw down there was a coyote, he was in the middle of the road waiting for some fresh road kill. I tried to explain to him that, one it is the desert, and two, that waiting IN the road was really being counter productive. Apparently they also have kangaroo rats and sidewinder snakes in Death Valley. I really felt like I saw the whole thing. Except for the golf course, it was closed.
